WHO WE ARE

Women with Disabilities Health Initiative (WODHI) is a youth led grassroots non government organization working with and for girls and young women with disabilities in Iganga district, Uganda. WODHI was founded in January 2026 by a group of girls and young women with disabilities as well as their parents and caregivers, united by a shared vision of social justice, human rights and gender equality. Community

Too often, girls and young women with disabilities face barriers to participation, connection, and belonging within their own communities. WODHI works to create safe and inclusive spaces where girls and young women with disabilities can engage, lead and be heard.

Education

Education for girls and young women with disabilities is a core pillar of WODHI’s mission. Without access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education, they remain silenced, excluded from society and unable to advocate for their rights. At WODHI, we believe every girl and young woman with a disability deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Education is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right.
